The Hemp for Victory movie was produced by the US Department of Agriculture and released in 1942. Its purpose was to encourage farmers to grow as much hemp as they could for the war effort, as the other imported industrial fibers were in short supply. The movie showed the history of how hemp is grown, processed, and manufactured into rope, sails, and cordage.

We have all heard both terms when referencing cannabis, but what exactly is the difference between the two? Both come from Cannabis Sativa L, but what separates them is partly genetics, and partly a matter of the law of the land. Let’s start with genetics.

We have all heard these terms before. Indica is supposed to give sedative effects of being “in-da-couch.” Sativas are labeled as giving the opposite effects, offering the giddy-up that some of us lack. And then there is the hybrid, which claims to be a mix of both. To say that a flower “leans” one way or the other is again said to dictate if the product will be more sedative or energizing.
