Mangoes Increase Your High

Most of us have heard this one. It is the theory that if you combine mangos with your cannabis intake you will get higher because you are doubling down on the terpene myrcene. Although that mango smoothie you have is extra yummy and does a fine job at squashing your cottonmouth, it isn’t enhancing your buzz. Contrary to popular belief, mangos really don’t contain high
concentrations of myrcene, and what myrcene it does have is not housed in the fleshy fruit, but in the skin. And if you were thinking about eating just the skin of a mango, I’d listen to the following warning by Dr. Codi Peterson, “… mangoes contain urushiol, the same compound present in poison ivy and poison oak. So don’t start eating mango skins to get extra high or you’re
likely to bite off more than you bargained for.”
